Join Lower Valley Green Power Program
Here Comes the Sun is designed to use the arts to inspire our community to enroll in the Lower Valley Green Power program. This project is a partnership between Vista 360°, Energy Conservation Works and Jackson Hole Public Art, with Lower Valley Energy's enthusiastic support.
Conceived and designed by local artist Suzanne Morlock, this moveable art installation is a display of solar-printed flags created over a period of many months by hundreds of community members. This process of solar printing, called cyanotype printing, is powered by the sun and results in a deep, indigo blue background for white patterns of every shape and form.
The flags will appear in many sites around town over the coming months, outdoors and in, as a beautiful reminder to enroll in the Green Power program. This program assures that you are using electrical power generated 100% from renewable sources. Currently, Teton County's enrollment is at about 15% and we hope that the flags will remind enough people to enroll so that we can reach the target of 30%.
Vista 360° launched the Global+Local Program in 2019 in an effort to enhance cooperation between global experts and local action programs. Through co-creation with our coalition of support, the "The Green Power Stimulus Plan" is designed to expand renewable energy use and awareness in Teton County, bringing great ideas from around the world as inspiration for local action. We bring together a dynamic group that engages creatively with the community, including local high school students, and sparks interest for the general public. This collaborative work includes private and public sector organizations, activating their strategic priorities for sustainability planning and analysis.

“Our idea is that those who make solar printed flags are investing in the idea of a greener future through the power of art in public and catalyzing engagement and action for community members to sign up for LVE’s 100% Green Power Program.”
Suzanne Morlock
The printing technique uses an alternative photographic process called cyanotype, invented in the 1850s and used to make blueprints until the 1970s. Each print is mounted on recycled sheets from hotels in town. The sewing has been donated by the Jackson Hole Quilt Guild.
This project is supported by the NEA, Town & County Arts for All, the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, the Wyoming Arts Council, Energy Conservation Works and Jackson Hole Public Art.
